bare vexed

Isabelle Kerr said, in her article, that “Shakespeare would be turning in his grave” in relation to young people creating their own style of texting and speaking to each other. I think Shakespeare will be turning in his grave over what she is saying about the way young people talk to each other as less intelligent and not useful.

The way people talk to each other is a way to show what your relationship is like with that person, for example you will speak differently to your friends than a teacher because of the sort of relationship you have with them it changes the way to speak and what words you use. It is a privet way of speaking to people of your own age and to the people who understand it and if your not in that circle of friends then you wont understand them. Also speaking in a different way to people will distance your self from them pushing your self out of their friend circle and you wont be accepted as easily, for example if you are talking to your friend in the way you speak to them and someone outside your friend circle that doesn’t understand how you speak will have trouble making friends with you and will seem to be more distant and not as involved in your world.

When Isabelle Kerr says “An invasion of bizarre, nonsensical and downright pointless words appear to have taken over” she’s is so wrong because the words may be bizarre to the people who don’t use them or are not familiar to some people but they are “nonsensical” because they wouldn’t of put them into the online Oxford dictionary, also they they do make sense to a lot of people yes mainly the younger generation but people do use the words newly added to the dictionary and thats why they have been added.

Isabelle Kerr said “Instead of creating words to improve our ability to communicate and express ourselves”. I disagree very strongly about this because the words that the younger generation have come up with are so far from not expressing them selfs, for example when two younger people greet each other they would do so by saying “wassup blud” which doesn’t just blood as in family by blood but by a brotherly and family relationship. All the words are to help communicate with each other and express each other and also help show each how you speak and where your from.

this further confuses me because she speaks formal all the time and mentions that people who speak slang are of lower status then her. but her going along with this statement is technically her  saying that it is wrong to have a mixed ethnicity within our community, because ninety percent of slang terms are from either a different language or a mixture of languages combined together. if it wasn’t for people of mixed ethnicity then we wouldn’t even have slang. but however she is missing out on one key fact, and that is it enhances the english language and allowing our culture to evolve for the future.

I can tell you now

The weather is something everyone likes but everyone hates it too, its like if the weather is not what they want it to be they moan about it. People like the cold but only if they get a day of work or school or when it slows, but people love the heat because they get to wear there very reviling clothes but still moan about how hot it is.

The weather is a secrete beast that is around to mess your day up when your in the class room forced to do work its sunny out like its taunting you if the weather could talk it would be laughing saying “hahaha its nice and sunny out and your trapped in there” but as soon as your set free from the prison also known as school it automatically turns horrible cold, windy and raining like it waited for you to be free to change. The weather has its own mind and chooses what it does, it is our illusion that we can say and calculate what it does we watch the weather men and women believing what they say the weather will be and we believe it until it decides to ruin your day and do the opposite.

The weather can also read our minds it knows what plans we have for the day and then decides for its self whether is ruins your plans completely or not, like it can be really hot and sunny and you decide to go for a picnic in the park with some friends but the weather knows this and decides to destroy you idea of a nice day out and will wait till your at the park and unleashes a storm on you and your day because it doesn’t care about your plans and life it just does what it wants. It can also be confusing by looking nice and sunny out but actually deceives you and is actually freezing cold and as soon as you go out starts to rain and wind from the arctic finds its way up every part of clothing you didn’t put on because it looked sunny out to lore you out.

now and then

Granada’s house

age 11:

You get the news that your going to granddad’s, your heart warms up and you start to remember the chocolate he puts into your pocket when he hugs you thinking you didn’t notice. He rubs his prickly facial hair on your smooth and bear skin, you then get a big whiff of the freshly made fruit pies in the kitchen. Then you turn around and Sam jumps at you dripping wet because he just came out the sea and starts licking your face and waging his tail making you even more wet but you don’t care and still hug him cos you haven’t seen him for months. You also remember riding quad bikes with your granddad on the beach feeling the worm and refreshing sea water spray onto your face it feels so good until you lick it and its so salty it make you screw you face like when you eat sour candy. Then after he says something that you was hoping he would say “Hey little man. Wanna go get some coffee” even though you don’t like coffee you love drinking with him, to be honest you love any minute you are with him cos everything you and him do is so fun and you love every minute of it. When sitting in Starbucks with him you feel the air con hit the back of your neck and instantly cool you from the 65 plus degrees weather out side, the smell of freshly crushed coffee beans enter hit your nose like a car crash.

age 16:

When your mum tells you that your going to Granddad’s everything becomes better instantly. You can’t wait to see him, you haven’t seen him in years you wonder what has changed, he told you that he grew his beard and you head is rushing with images of him trying to picture it, you giggle at your self at the thought of him with a big beard and dreading in a good way what he is going to do with if when he hugs you like he did when you was younger. You start thinking of what he is gonna put in your pocket when he hugs you because the older you’ve gotten the better things he has given you. It started with chocolate and then moved on to sweets then to money and the older you get the more money he gives you so you are just wondering how much we will give you this time. He loved to drive on the beach with you as a kid but had restriction on how far and fast you went so now that your older your mind rambles on about how fast he will let you go now and you can’t wait. You know when you get there your gonna feel sad about Sam not running in and licking your face because he died 2 years ago, but then you will remember that he had a long and great loving life and didn’t feel anything when he went. Now that you’re older and your taste buds have changed you now know that you can finally enjoy a coffee with him. Even though he doesn’t make the home made pies any more, you’re more than happy to go to the dinner in town with him to enjoy a piece of pie and a great and funny conversation with him. What ever you and your Granddad do you love him and every minute with him because you don’t know when the next you will see him.

This is Your Online Domain

Hello and welcome to your personal online journal.

Edutronic has been created to enhance and enrich your learning at the London Nautical School. Its purpose is to provide you with an audience for your work (or work-in-progress) and you have the choice (by altering the ‘visibility’ of your posts) of whether your work on here is visible to the world, or only to your teacher.

Anything you post here in the public domain represents you and thus it’s important that you take care with that decision, but don’t be afraid to publish your work – as the feedback you may get from people at home, your peers and people from around the internet is only likely to enhance it.

Remember you can always access your class blog and all manner of resources through the Edutronic main website – and by all means check out the sites of your peers to see what they’re getting up to as well.

If you have any questions for your teacher, an excellent way to get an answer is to create a new private post on this journal. Your teachers are am notified of any new posts and will reply swiftly to any queries.

Make the most of, and enjoy this new freedom in your English learning!
